Massive Search For Missing Child in Yavapai Co.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Deputies are currently involved in the search for a missing 3-year-old girl from a home in Cordes Lakes. The missing girl’s name is Victoria Bensch and she was last seen wearing a brown shirt and pink pants. She is 60 pounds, 3’ in height, with brown hair and brown eyes.

YCSO dispatch received a call from the missing girl’s parents just after 6:00pm Thursday.

The reporting party told deputies their daughter was last seen playing outside on the porch of their home around 5:00pm. They spent approximately an hour searching the area around their home before contacting YCSO. No one at the girl’s home heard anything unusual or suspicious before she was discovered missing. The residence does adjoin State Land where a portion of the search effort is ongoing.

YCSO deputies are assisted by members of the Jeep Posse, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Response Team, DPS, DPS Ranger Helicopter, and Mayer Fire Department .

That was fast: Missing 3-year-old Cordes Lakes girl found alive, dog stayed with her

According to YCSO, the DPS helicopter spotted Victoria Bensch with her dog a short time shortly after 8:30 a.m., about an hour into their morning search.

"She was able to stay warm with the dog. It's probably one of the things that saved her life," said Sgt. Jeff Newnum. The overnight temperature in the area was in the low 30s.

"God's watching over her," Newnum said. "I just believe that. It's the resolution we were all praying for."

Newnum said searching in the daylight made all the difference.

"We could have been very close to her last night and never spotted her," Newnum said.

Victoria was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital for evaluation. Medics were concerned Victoria might have suffered frostbite.

The girl was found about 3/4 of a mile from her home, an area she and her family know well.

DPS Finds Missing Girl in Good Condition

CORDES LAKES, Ariz - Yavapai County authorities say a DPS helicopter has located missing 3-year-old Victoria Bensch.

Victoria was found in good condition, but she could have possible frostbite concerns.

She was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital with her mother.

Her dog, named Blue, was found with her and was dropped off at the Yavapai County command post in Cordes Lakes.
