LOUISVILLE, Ohio - A Stark County man is facing a felony child endangering charge for allegedly tattooing a 1-year-old girl, Fox 8 News reports.

Lee Deitrick, 20, is accused of putting the non-removable tattoo on the child's backside while she was visiting his house with a female relative in November. Deitrick is not the girl's father.

Louisville Police Chief Andy Turowski tells Fox 8 News that Deitrick was taken to the Stark County Jail under a probation hold. If he's convicted for the third-degree felony, he could get up to five years behind bars.

Authorities say there’s no evidence the mother permitted the tattooing.

The suspect’s grandmother calls the tattoo “a wee-little hairline” and says there’s hardly anything left of it.

I was just telling a friend about a carnival I went to in Suva Fiji about 10 years ago. the third world shit was ominpresent. 10 year old kids were lined up gettting nonstop one minute tattoos. Mostly across the knuckles. You know the ones. classic, love or hate.
The really bad thing other than the age, was the same needle was used over and over and over. The kids got the tat in less than a minute and were handed a napkin and NEXT. I never felt so powerless.
Now jesus H. Christ. I do get the boy was playing or experimenting but still. he is twenty what an idiot.

Maybe he was going to spell out "ass" so that he could remember that the baby's diaper goes on that end?

Either way, it's the kid's body, and the kid shouldn't be given any tattoos until and unless she wants one and is either over 18 or both parents are cool with it.

ETA: Since the grandmother thought it was no big deal, maybe he should have practiced his 1337 inking skillz on her instead.

I do my own tattoos. I gave my 18yo one not too long ago. My 14yo stood watching and asked his brother if it hurt, DUH. But to show him that it wasn't as bad as he might have thought, I gave him a freckle. Yup, I tattooed a freckle on his forearm. Looks more like someone touched him with a pencil tip...a very tiny pencil tip.

However, in this case, this little one had no choice in the matter, and if the baby did, it certainly couldn't have said so. He was wrong for what he did. I'm not sure if it should fall under criminal prosecution, but that's just me.

i would have kicked his ass up and down the block. would have it been different if he had bit the baby on the ass? yeah the baby will git over it soon enough and all but...would it have been different if he had just stabbed the baby with a very sharp ice pick?

Does it not strike anyone to wonder about how the parents allowed a 1 yr old to be out of their company and in the company of buzz here? I don't disagree that the little ink artist is going to be an asset to the prison he winds up in but how the fuck do you let a a child alone with a 20 y/o boy without noticing he's tattooing your child?

Deitrick had faced up to eight years in prison on one charge and five on the other had he been given the maximum term.

His 3-year term will start after he completes his current prison sentence for previous, unrelated convictions. He had been released early for felony domestic violence and misdemeanor violating a protection order convictions. That 18-month prison term was reimposed in February.

So, not a good choice for a babysitter. Poor judgment, violent, and a petty criminal. I wonder, when he begins his sentence, how much of it he will serve?

Tards granny didn't think it was such a big deal that he took off a baby girls diaper and tattooed her butt? And what in the hell is wrong with him that he would even think of doing something like that in the first place? What did he use to do it, the correct equipment or just a sewing needle and ink? Was it clean? (looking at him, I highly doubt he sterilised the 'equipment' first!)

I think it's criminal simply because this is baby's body and she had no say in what was done to it. Not to mention the hygiene issue. Baby A could have picked up any nasty thing from his narly needle. Fucker.
