Khalil Brown isn't saying why he shook the sleeping baby

Khalil Brown claimed he left his 10-week-old daughter on the bed while he went to use the bathroom. When he returned, about 10-15 minutes later, she was unresponsive. He lived with his grandmother and the baby's mother, Kaleia Ebron, but was home alone with the baby at the time.

One minute, baby Aniyah Brown was sound asleep inside her Plymouth Township home.

But minutes later, the infant was bleeding from her nose and had stopped breathing, her father, Khalil Brown, told police.

On Friday, Aniyah was dead, taken off a respirator at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and by yesterday, Brown, 20, was charged with third-degree murder in her death.

He finally admitted that he picked her up while she was sleeping and shook her for "less than five minutes," according to the affidavit.

After he finished shaking Aniyah, "she just went dead and stopped moving," he told investigators. He described his shaking as "rough."

Brown did not explain why he had shaken his daughter, investigators said.

WTH? The baby was sleeping. This is worse than the usual "frustration" cop-out defenses I read about.

That's what got me. There are so many frustration-with-crying shaken baby cases that I don't post them unless something is not usual about them.

It saddens me that the "shaken baby" and "usual" even have to be used in the same sentence.

Yes, - and with no crying to use as an excuse the inescapable conclusion appears to be that he did it deliberately.

He is no father. I'm willing to bet he might not be related to baby at all. Perhaps he was angry on that account? I want a reason but nothing, absolutely nothing can justify doing this to a sleeping child. Khalil Brown, you must have no real idea how your pathetic life will now follow, "baby killer" for its remaining days and once you have left our breathing space, you will then find you have just begun punishment.

Rest in the heavens littlest Aniyah Brown, you deserved a fair chance at life. My deepest sympathies to mother and family.

You think? They are not saying it is the girl-friend's daughter. They are saying "his".....

I mean he learned baby isn't his, you know, mama who claims he is the dad but NOT. I'm must speculating of course, who knows why people kill babies at all.
