NASHVILLE, Ind. (Brown Co. Democrat) - A substitute teacher who has worked for Brown County Schools for about a month is in the Brown County Jail, charged with child seduction.
Vincent Joseph Gucciardo III, 21, of Columbus, was arrested Thursday, Jan. 14, in Nashville. Brown County Schools Superintendent David Shaffer said an allegation surfaced Jan. 5 about Gucciardo having inappropriate contact with a female high school student.
The allegation involved direct contact with a student, Shaffer said, rather than electronic contact, such as text messaging. Shaffer didn't have details, but said he didn't think the alleged contact might have happened on school property.
Gucciardo had been employed as a substitute teacher for about 30 days, at the high school and Nashville Elementary, and might also have been in other buildings, Shaffer said. As of Jan. 5, Shaffer said, Gucciardo was no longer a substitute teacher with Brown County Schools.
The investigation was conducted by the Brown County Sheriff's Department's Capt. Steve Brahaum, assisted by the Brown County office of the Indiana Department of Child Services.
