Amanda Richmond has a forgetful moment at Wal-Mart

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police said they arrested a 29-year-old mother on Jan. 9 after she left her 1-year-old son in a car while she went shopping at the Wal-Mart in Regency.

Officers said Amanda Richmond's son was in the car for about 30 minutes with temperatures around 32 degrees.

According to an arrest report, a passerby noticed the child crying in the car and called police.

Rescuers removed the boy from the car while police went into the store to page the mother.

Richmond said she went to get a cart, and then forgot about her son and started shopping.
