Yes, it snowed in South Florida last night

The latest blast of Arctic air that moved into South Florida Friday night brought snow flurries to Kendall and ice pellets to Oakland Park Saturday night according to reports sent in to CBS4's Zoom Radar. The reports were from trained National Weather Service spotters. The last time snow flurries fell on South Florida was in 1977.

A Wind Chill Warning will be in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday until 9 a.m. Monday. A Freeze Watch remains in in effect until 9 a.m. Monday.

Florida Power and Light reported Sunday morning, 790 residences and businesses were without power in Miami-Dade; 200 in Broward.

What does Al Gore have to say about this?
Yet know, my master, God omnipotent,
Is mustering in his clouds on our behalf
Armies of pestilence; and they shall strike
Your children yet unborn and unbegot,
That lift your vassal hands against my head
And threat the glory of my precious crown.

Orange juice is going to get really expensive. Maybe you should dump the cattle futures, Pete.

In Ft Lauderdale they used to have a funny advertisement on the side of the garbage trucks it said "Free Snow Removal" and had a pic of a snowman in sunglasses. I wonder if they still have that advertisement and if they do, are they worried they might be called on soon?

I'm more worried about beef exports slipping and the dollar index.

It's still there. They also cater weddings.
But I don't think they have to worry about it. Snow never sticks here.

Yeah yeah, my cousin is somewhere there complaining on her facebook about it. Her husband never saw snow before, a little puddle formed ice.... oh me oh my too cold.

I told her that I would break out my violin (it's the world's smallest) and play it just for her.

Kidding aside, I guess it's exciting to see, especially for someone who has never seen it before.
Dear Mommy...I see you smile down there below...are those tears of joy you show? I'm glad you're happy, although you lied...I'd love to be right by your side...but by your choice, I view from above...tell my Grandparents I send my love...it's Beautiful here, is all I can say...your life will go on... without me in your way. Love Caylee XOXO......

I remember being a child growing up in Fort Lauderdale and I genuinely did not understand their advertisement. I would read "free snow removal" on the side of the trucks and wonders if ALL garbage services everywhere offered free snow removal or if the company owner did not understand that it did not snow in Fort Lauderdale. It wasn't until I was older that my sister clarified the advertisement for me and told that it was a joke. The wedding catering is new to me though (I moved out of Florida when I was 17 years ago)
