DENVER -- Three months after a father was paroled in the deaths of his two children, he is back in custody, suspected in a string of bank robberies.
Published reports said Robert Henderson, 34, was arrested Friday after a robbery at the TCF Bank on University Boulevard in Douglas County. Douglas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cocha Heyden told 7NEWS the bank was robbed at about 10:20 a.m. Friday.
The Rocky Mountain News reported that authorities suspect Henderson in several metro-area bank robberies.
In 2004, Henderson pleaded guilty to negligent homicide. He admitted giving his children, Rhapsody, 4, and Robert, 5, too much adult cough syrup.
The kids had complained of being sick and Henderson said he gave them about three teaspoons each of cherry-flavored cough syrup before putting them in bed for their afternoon nap. Hours later, their cousin tried to wake them up but found them dead in their beds.
