Tina Edington & Oriana Mendoza Cited After Toddler "Bumbles" Out of SUV

NE - Tina M. Edington, 13, and Oriana F. Mendoza, 28, each have been cited for misdemeanor child abuse. Edington was driving a Suburban Saturday night; following behind was an off-duty Nebraska Game and Parks officer.

When the Suburban turned, a rear door came open and a 14-month-old came bumbling out.

The Game and Parks officer called the police.

Edington turned into a restaurant parking lot and she and the child’s mother, Mendoza, jumped out of the Suburban and ran to the child, who was in the street.

The child was taken by ambulance to the hospital and treated overnight. The child suffered minor injuries.
