Talking Madison County, Illinois Judge Ann Callis gets it right when sentencing Frank D.Price

    Frank D Price, 36, Illinois
EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KMOX Radio) -- Frank Price will die in prison. The 36-year old who was supposed to drive his girlfriend's five-year old boy to kindergarten, but instead brutally beat him to death, was sentenced to 70 years in prison by Madison County Judge Ann Callis.

Madison County State's Attorney Bill Mudge applauds the sentence. "This young child endured pain and suffering that no one can possibly imagine," Mudge said, "And he was defenseless and did nothing to justify it."

Price got the maximum 60 years, plus a ten-year extended sentence because a child under age 12 was killed. Sentencing guidelines require Price serve the entire sentence.

A Madison County jury had convicted Price of first-degree murder in the September 2008 beating death of 5-year old Ethan Allen, of unincorporated Cottage Hills.

    Justice has been served!
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

I had to look up Badfish's quote, because is sounded so Old Testamenty.

The phrase was recited by Samuel Jackson's character in Pulp Fiction. The last sentence is, from Ezekiel 25:17.

Is it wrong for me to hope that he spends his time in GP?

Preferably sharing a cell with the father of a small child... someplace nice and quiet in the back. (Ahh... I can dream can't I?)

As they investigated Ethan’s death, Madison County sheriff’s detectives obtained a subpoena demanding that the Telegraph, an Alton newspaper, identify five people who had posted comments about the case on the newspaper’s Internet site.

Cottage Hills man on trial in death of 5-year-old boy

COTTAGE HILLS - The brain injury that killed 5-year-old Ethan Allen was no accident, a prosecutor told a jury in Edwardsville Tuesday as Frank Price went on trial on a charge of first-degree murder.

Price, 36, was the boyfriend of Ethan’s mother, Tonia Whitehead, and she and Ethan lived with him in unincorporated Cottage Hills.

Madison County Assistant State’s Attorney Ali Summers said Price was supposed to take Ethan to catch his school bus after driving Whitehead to work in Godfrey on the morning of Sept. 8.

But Ethan never made it to kindergarten that morning, Summers said. Instead, she said, he was brutally beaten and would die of a brain injury two days later.

Summers said Price told police Ethan fell off a bicycle or that he fell in the house and hit his head on the floor. But she said testimony would show the boy’s numerous injuries were not caused by an accident but instead were the result of being repeatedly hit and kicked and slammed against a wall or a floor.

Defense attorney John Delaney told the jury the evidence would not clearly support those allegations. He said Price should have sought help for Ethan more quickly but said that did not amount to murder. Delaney said he would show that Ethan was hurt two days earlier and his mother did not seek medical care for him.

As they investigated Ethan’s death, Madison County sheriff’s detectives obtained a subpoena demanding that the Telegraph, an Alton newspaper, identify five people who had posted comments about the case on the newspaper’s Internet site.

The Telegraph resisted the subpoena, arguing that the commenters’ identities were protected by the Illinois reporter “shield” law. Its lawyers argued that web postings were protected from disclosure like information communicated to journalists by other means.

But prosecutors argued that people who post comments on an online news site are communicating with the world at large, not providing confidential tips to reporters.

Circuit Judge Richard Tognarelli ruled in May that the paper had to provide the identities of two of the commenters but said the comments of the other three did not appear important to the investigation.

Price is being tried before Chief Circuit Judge Ann Callis.

Kinda sounds to me like the Mother should have some charges as well. I could not find anything on that though. It's too bad that she is not in trouble, she may have been able to help him (like a REAL Mother would ) before it was too late.

It is but the sig line space only allows 500 characters and there wasn't room left to note it and I figured that most ppl would have a general inkling of where it is from.

The funny thing is that the quotes material IS from the movie but it is NOT the real Ezekiel 25:17.

Pulp Fiction is one of my most favorite movies of all time and I found the line to be fitting for this forum.

    Sorry for the OT note.

this is all that is left...
I hope this child killing piece of garbage dies a slow painful death before he meets his maker; Lucifer. The mother needs to be sterilized and not have the sole responsibility of caring for any children if she had any idea there was prior abuse or that Lucifer, I mean Frank was abusive in any manner.
