GREENWOOD HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WPIX) - A driver -- pulling out of a parking spot -- found the body of a dead teenager wrapped in plastic underneath his vehicle, police said.
The incident occurred in the Greenwood Heights section of Brooklyn early Thursday.
Ashraf Ali, 27, told police he felt something under his car when he attempted to pull out of a parking spot on 27th Street. Ali said he at first thought it was a prank when a friend told him there was a leg sticking out from the car. However, he told authorities when he looked down he discovered a human hand.
Emergency officials pronounced 19-year-old Daniel Vargas dead at the scene. The Medical Examiners office said Vargas was strangled and suffered multiple skull fractures.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The ME says an autopsy revealed Daniel Vargas, 19, also suffered multiple skull fractures.
Vargas' body was discovered at 27th Street near the Gowanus Expressway in Greenwood Heights, Brooklyn on Thursday morning. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Sources tell NY1 that it appears Vargas may have fallen out of a truck. They say another driver somehow drove over him, realized he was dragging something, and then made the discovery.
Neighbors who knew Vargas said they were stunned to hear about his death.
"He used to be nice, a really, really nice kid,” said a local convenient store worker. “He used to come here with his mom and stuff."
"What can you say? It's a shame,” said a neighbor. “I've never known Danny to be in any type of trouble. So I'm really not sure of the circumstances.
