Amber Alert 15 month old forcibly taken by father *found, arrest made*

Authorities are trying to locate a 15-month-old boy they say was abducted by his father. Investigators believe that the child might be injured and in danger.

Omaha police say that the child was sleeping with his mother when 19-year-old Jarez D. Wilson allegedly kicked-in the front door of their residence and forcibly took the boy from the mother.

The alleged abduction happened in the 5100 block of North 22nd Street in Omaha at 6 o'clock Thursday morning.

They may be traveling in a Silver 2009 Saturn Aura with Missouri plates, License # AB9J8K, driven by someone other than the suspect Jarez Wilson that was last seen heading Unknown direction of travel.

The child is a 15 months old, male with Short, Black hair and was last seen wearing Wht. Onesie with blue stripe.

Jarez D. Wilson is described as a black male, 5'8" tall with brown eyes and black hair.

A 15-month-old boy was found hours after he was taken from his mother’s home in the early morning Thursday.

The boy, Jarez Wilson Jr. was dropped off at the home about noon. He had been forcibly taken from the home by his 19-year-old father, Jarez. D. Wilson about 6 a.m., police said.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the boy several hours after the door of the house at 5014 N. 22nd St. was kicked in and the child taken from his mother.

The mother had been sleeping with the child at the time.

Wilson has still not been located. Someone else dropped the child off, although it wasn't immediately clear who that person was.

The child was checked by Omaha Fire and Rescue and taken to a local hospital. It wasn’t immediately clear if the child was injured but in issuing the Amber Alert, police said the boy may have been injured during the struggle when he was taken from his mother.

Police said after taking the child, Wilson fled in a silver, 2009 Saturn four-door with Missouri plates AB9JK. But authorities say that, with the use of On-Star, officers located the Saturn in the area of Irvington Road and Ida Street. The car appeared to be abandoned and was unoccupied, police said.

Police said Wilson might be armed.

A 19-year-old Omaha man had caused problems for the mother of his son long before the morning of Christmas Eve.

Jarez D. Wilson's “anger problems” already had soured his relationship with the child's mother, 20-year-old Naquieta N. Harper, before about 6 a.m. Thursday, said Harper's grandmother, Janice Harper.

That's when authorities say Wilson kicked in the door of the Harper family home about 6 a.m. Thursday and took the 15-month-old boy, Jarez Wilson Jr.

Police issued an Amber Alert just before 10 a.m. About noon, someone else dropped off the child with Harper, though it was unclear who.

Wilson turned himself in about 8:30 p.m. Thursday. He was booked on an arrest warrant charging him with burglary and felony child neglect.

Police said Naquieta Harper had been sleeping with the child when Wilson arrived.

Janice Harper, in the home at the time, said all she could remember was her granddaughter saying, “Grandma, he's in.”

Precious Franklin, who lives next door to the Harpers, said she awoke to screaming after Wilson arrived at the Harper home. She said she's witnessed Wilson causing her neighbor “drama” before.

“He acts psycho,” the 27-year-old said. “It seems like he's always causing problems for her.”

Janice Harper said her great-grandson appeared to be doing OK. The child was checked by Omaha Fire and Rescue and taken to a local hospital.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the child had been injured, but in issuing the Amber Alert, police said the boy may have been hurt during the struggle to take him.
