In March 2000 the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) organization of Massachusetts held its 10 Year Anniversary GLSEN/Boston conference at Tufts University. This conference was fully supported by the Massachusetts Department of Education, the Safe Schools Program, the Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, and some of the presenters even received federal money. During the 2000 conference, workshop leaders led a “youth only, ages 14-21″ session that offered lessons in “fisting” a dangerous sexual practice. During another workshop an activist asked 14 year-old students, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?” The unbelievable audio clip is posted here. Barack Obama’s “Safe Schools Czar” Kevin Jennings is the founder of GLSEN. He was paid $273,573.96 as its executive director in 2007. Jennings was the keynote speaker at the 2000 GLSEN conference.

I remember when I was a junior in High School. I was dropping my girlfriend of a year off after a date. We started making out, I started fingering her. First one, then two, then the normal 3. However......

Recently, I watched an episode of Oprah and it was about teen sex, she had a teen psychologist on there that sat with a group of 10 teenage suburban girls. The girls discussed openly with her why they felt uncomfortable talking to their parents about sex and the way sex, dating, and courting are now and explained exactly what they are faced with. Almost every single girl stated that they did not discuss sex with their parents for fear of many things, and most said that their parents really never approached them about it and when they did their knowledge was totally outdated and out of touch.

First of all the "bases" have changed. When I was a teen first base was open mouth kissing, second base was up your shirt, and third was fingering.

Apparently according to these teens from all over America first base is a BLOWJOB. How crazy is that? I mean WTF? And to make matters worse, these girls are EXPECTED to give the blowjob or the guy won't date them.

Courting is literally called "sexting." Apparently boys demand that girls text them a picture of their boobs or whatever and if they dont do it they are shunned.

The teens were asked by the psychologist how important it was for them socially to have a "boyfriend." They all responded that it was all important, if not the MOST important thing to them.

Needless to say, I was absolutely floored by all of it.

This is all from the horses mouth and very very real. Most of the girls' parents were in total shock at what they heard when Oprah played back the group session with the psychologist.

In my opinion, its of the utmost importance that parents with teenage children educate themselves on exactly what these girls are facing at school and what the current trends are. If they choose to stay in the dark they are doing their children a great disservice. Talking about it may be uncomfortable but it MUST be talked about.

It is ridiculous to rely on "my daughter wouldn't do that" or abstaining because that is clearly NOT what is happening.

It is the birds, the bees, and teen hormones. That has never changed. How they go about it has changed drastically. And if that means "fisting" needs to be discussed in school then so be it. I don't like it. But it is going to occur whether we like it or not.

i'll go out on a limb and say sexting is amazing. i write filthy text messages all day to 5 or 6 different people, but you cant force someone to send you something they don't want to. that's when the girl is supposed to say "fuck off, you're a douchebag", but i guess either they don't know any better or care about the acceptance of others more than self-respect.

all in all, i don't really understand this shit. i'm willing to chalk it up to the incompetence and foolishness of others and it's continuance via generational gaps and shitty cultural ideals.
