John Speer reports sex abuse of 5 kids

Greenville County deputies said that a Marietta man admitted to sexually abusing five children from 1982 to 1997.

Deputies said that 71-year-old John Speer showed up at the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center on Saturday night to report the abuse.

According to arrest warrants, Speers forced three girls and two boys in his family to perform oral sex on him. The warrants also accuse Speers of performing oral sex on the children, some as young as four years old. Speers is also accused of forcing the children to have intercourse with him, according to the warrants.

A 71-year-old man turned himself in to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, admitting he raped several minors more than 12 years ago.

John Wesley Speer is charged with five counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Deputies said he sexually abused five family members, both girls and boys, between 1982 and 1997.

Warrants indicate the victims were each assaulted on numerous occasions for years.
