Sitter Amy Jones who shook baby to death only gets 5 years to serve 2

Amy Jones faced up to 7 years in prision for killing three-month-old child, Jaci Morgan Rogers in January of 2008.
The mother and grandmother testified and the GBI said it was a "classic case of shaken baby syndrome"




Jones had lots of character witnesses including her pastor.

She also has 4 year old twins and a daughter that will be 2 in Febuary.

She took an altered plea called an Alford meaning she was not pleaing guilty but the court would probably find her guilty.

"The defense brought in several court approved scientific and medical experts, who stated that shaken baby syndrome was untested, and that humans can't produce enough force to cause major brain trauma through shaking alone."

How many babies have we seen died because they were shaken to death?

She has sat for over a year and since she's in Georgia and has less than a year to serve she will never see a prision cell on this ,she'll just stay in her cozy jail cell and be out in January 2010.

I wonder if she'll ever get the chance to shake another baby to death again?
