A Henry man, charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony, appeared in a La Salle County courtroom Tuesday where his bond was set at $50,000.

Shaun E. Green, 31, 313 Jefferson St., is accused of committing an act of sexual assault against a child who was 4 at the time of the alleged offense between July 2004 and August 2005. Marshall County authorities arrested Green and brought him to the La Salle County jail Monday.

Circuit Court Judge H. Chris Ryan Jr. found Green indigent and appointed counsel through the county's public defender's office.

Conviction of a Class X felony could be punished by a sentence of six to 30 years in the Department of Corrections. Green needs $5,000 cash to be released from custody. He is scheduled for arraignment Friday, Dec. 4.
