Kenneth Delaine Stewart, 25, has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child. He has been booked into the Harris County Jail and made his first court appearance shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said two girls were approached after they got off a school bus from Summerwood Elementary School and were walking home near the intersection of Logan Falls Lane and Jackson Creek Bend in the Fall Creek subdivision on Monday.

Deputies said a 9-year-old ran home and told her mom that a man had just tried to offer her money, asked her to do something sexual and said he would like her to get in the car.

She told investigators that she knew something was wrong and ran away.

Detectives said Stewart approached a 7-year-old girl about half an hour later. Officials said he told the 7-year-old that her mother was not at home and she sent him to pick her up. He then told her he would take her to where her mother was. She got in the car.

Investigators said she walked into the Bay Area Rehabilitation Center, located in the 6300 block of Decker Drive about 20 miles away in Baytown, 90 minutes later.

The girl told deputies that her captor had taken her several places and assaulted her before dropping her off.

Investigators said Stewart admitted that he molested the 7-year-old and took some of her clothing and hair.

Deputies said the 7-year-old victim picked Stewart out of a photo lineup.

Stewart is no stranger to the legal system. He has prior convictions for assault, endangering a child, theft, driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, harassment, making a terroristic threat and possession of marijuana.
