Virginia Moll was murdered by her husband Soyer Moll and buried under a fallen tree

The husband of a missing Hubert woman led investigators to her shallow grave behind their Sandridge Road home late Tuesday, Sheriff Ed Brown said.

Soyer Lewis Moll will be charged with murder, Brown told reporters on the side of the road late Tuesday night as members of the Onslow County Sheriff's Department and the District Attorney's Office examined the body and crime scene, about ¼ mile into the woods behind 207 Sandridge Road.

"This is never how I want a case to turn out," Brown said. "But there were indicators it was going to be this way."

Virginia Tillman Moll, 21, was reported missing by her out-of-town sister Nov. 1 after being missing for three days.
Brown said the Molls got into a domestic argument Oct. 28 that led to Soyer Moll killing his wife and burying her body beneath a fallen tree.

Soyer Moll spent the better part of Tuesday being questioned by Sheriff's detectives and did not work his scheduled shift, according to an employee at the Swansboro convenience store where he works.

Soyer Moll's grandmother, Ruth Moll, who lives next door to the couple, said earlier in the day she was worried about what might have happened to Virginia Tillman Moll.

Buzzards circled the property behind 207 Sandridge Road and a foul odor emanated from the woods Tuesday afternoon.

Soyer and Virginia Moll were married in September 2008. Their daughter turned 1 year old Tuesday, according to the Onslow County Register of Deeds.

The child is being cared for by Soyer Moll's parents, Ruth Moll said.

Virginia Moll was trying to find a different place for her family to live other than the Sandridge Road house owned by the Molls, according to an Oct. 23 post on a MySpace page registered in her name.

The post mentions Virginia Moll's brother who died in 2003 and states, "I will live each day like it would be my last."

Preparations were underway at the Sheriff's Department late Tuesday for dogs to search the woods behind the Sandridge house when Soyer Moll agreed to take detectives to where his wife's body was found.

    About her brother

    Who I'd like to meet:
I only have one person I would like to meet again, Jacob I will see you again big brother and I promise I will live life the way you would have wanted me too. I will live each day like it would be my last. You where taken from this world too soon and I will always miss you. I think I would have made you proud. I love you and I am looking forward to the day you greet me in the after life. I know it will be a while but I will always be your baby sister. Rest in Peace Samual Jacob Tillman 08/28/1984 - 03/10/2003 We love you bubba.

She left her baby daughter behind to be with her brother. How incredibly sad that baby is with his family and without her mother. I hope justice is served and Virginia can rest in peace.

How terrible for her parents, if they are still alive. First they lose a son, now a daugther.

As for the rotten, no-good, wife-killing husband, one assumes he might have done a better job of concealing the crime if it had been pre-meditated. The fact that he didn't is about the only thing I can find in his favour.

Yeah well the date of that posting was a few years back.

That's why they were looking for a place of their own away from parents.

    Seeing those pics is weird.

Also, her closest friends and family are still posting on her page..cool.

I suspect we shall find it was an argument about their moving or staying put that got out of hand. Living with in-laws can be very stressful.

    Just my speculation, this.......

Abroad, I think you're probably right on the motive. I'm thinking he's a momma's boy and didn't want to move away.

LAWYER: Man Will Admit Killing His Wife
Soyer Moll is accused of strangling his wife, Virginia, and then burying her body in a shallow grave behind their home two years ago.
An Onslow County man will apparently admit to killing his wife when jurors are selected for his trial this afternoon.

Soyer Moll is accused of strangling his wife, Virginia, and then burying her body in a shallow grave behind their home two years ago.

During pre-trial motions this morning, Moll's attorney read a statement from Moll, agreeing to let his lawyer say during jury selection that he did kill his wife.

The couple had been married about a year, and the wife's body was found on their daughter's first birthday.
