Search for missing girl to resume Monday
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities have suspended their search for a 5-year-old girl reported missing by her mother, who is charged with human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution.
Fayetteville police spokeswoman Theresa Chance said the search for Shaniya Nicole Davis will resume Monday morning.

When I read this morning that the mother had been arrested for basically selling her child off to a bunch of nasty fuckers who will destroy this baby, I got so sick. I stood in the shower and cried as if someone had stolen my own baby.
I fear Shaniya's fate has been met...What a dreadful way to leave this earth. Not only to be a baby at 5 yrs old, but to have her virtue and her pure innocence stolen from her on the way out? My heart aches so deeply thinking what this baby has endured or did endure. Grown women ache to their souls both physically and mentally after being treated that way-how would this precious baby ever recover if she were to survive?
I can't help but think of you Shaniya, and as I do, I only think of an innocent little girl who had an evil wretch of a mother. When I see you in my mind, you will always be pure and innocent. Just as untouched as you were the day you were born. And if you are in God's hands now, you are whole again...you are pure again...you are an angel there in heaven as you were here on earth. If you are there, I pray you find peace and happiness. God bless your innocent soul.

She also has a seven year old brother, Shaniya. I believe he has been removed from the home. Also, I read but did not link something that the orginal arrestee (Coe) said:
It was to the effect that every time he was over there Shaniya was never in the living room. Granted, he only knew her ma for about a month and I think, Ma has only had custody of Shaniya for a few months--- basically he said that there was only one reason that little girl was always in the back bedroom and you don't have to be an intelligent person to figure that out.

I think Shaniya's dad was going to check in on her shortly and her "mother" knew that she would probably tell daddy what was going on. So, she sold her. Gotta getz dem dollas, right? I saw it on the news here(well across the river in detroit) and said Mario whatever his name is has now been released.Maybe he told where to search??Im not sure but the link for that news station is www.clickondetroit.com and its not updated there yet but they have a habit of not updating that site until after all 3 news casts are done after 11. Why would they let him go if he admitted to kidnapping her? Maybe because these people are negotiating her life for leniency? Maybe he said he was the only person who could get Shaniya alive? WHY would they release him and not her mother? Maybe he was literally just the person who delivered her to the hotel? Maybe now we are going to see more tapes?
I read that the ravine and wooded area being searched was roadside between Shaniya's "mother's" trailer and the hotel we see Shaniya in.
Maybe they are just looking for something Dreadlocks threw out the window?

Authorities acting on a tip are scouring a portion of south-central North Carolina for a 5-year-old girl reported missing by her mother.
According to arrest documents cited by the newspaper, Davis "knowingly provide(d) Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude" and she "permit(ted) an act of prostitution."
Shaniya had only been living with her mother since last month. Davis reported the girl missing Tuesday morning from a mobile home community in Fayetteville, and authorities began searching nearby wooded areas. The following day a man described as Davis' boyfriend was charged in the kidnapping, but the charges were later dropped and he was released.
An official at the Cumberland County Detention Center said Davis was still being booked and it was unclear whether she had an attorney. My husband and I have been following this story. As I sit here with my own 6 year old I cannot imagine selling her or giving her away to someone to live a life of torture. I wonder if little Shaniya had been drugged and that is why she looks so relaxed in the hotel picture. I feel my stress level going through the roof at the thought of what has happened or what may happen to this little girl. I pray that they find her alive and well, and untouched.
