Maybe I'm overthinking this but who carries a big ole 5 year old like that if they are not asleep. And she's not asleep, she looks scared to me. Apprehensive, tense, but not happy, carefree or sleepy.
She's a little on the big size for 5 (not saying she's fat just big for her age) And most people would have her walk on her own cause she's really too big to carry. That is if they weren't trying to keep control of her for some reason. JMO

If he was going there cut or color her hair that means she is probably alive out there. If he wanted to kill her (don't wanna think about that) he wouldn't have bothered.
I just watched the video of her father...broke my heart. I hope and pray that they find her alive and he gets her permanently. but I can't help but wonder why he didn't have her in the first place? He does seem very together. I truly hope he gets a second chance...

I must say, I too am physically sick to my stomach over the notion of her not being found alive. I think I relate to much because my daughter is mixed and she is just so beautiful like my little girl. My baby is two, and when I see this little 5 yr old, I see my baby 3 yrs from now. I can't help but think of little Jayda Justice as well. She was a pretty little mixed girl too.

He said his daughter had lived with him for the past three or four years. He let her live with her mother, Antoinette Davis, about three weeks ago because she had found a place to live and had held a job for six months, he said.
"I just wanted her to be a mother," he said. "She was never part of her life."
The girl's parents had never married.
Theresa Chance, a Fayetteville police spokeswoman, said Lockhart has been questioned and ruled out as a suspect.
Chance said Davis has helped police in the investigation.
Davis told police she last saw her child at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday and reported her missing at 6:53 a.m.
Surveillance video at an unnamed Sanford hotel showed McNeil carrying Shaniya to a room around 6:11 a.m. that day, police said. A hotel worker called police after recognizing Shaniya's description, according to police. Shaniya and the man were at the hotel for about an hour, police said.
Not guilty plea planned
McNeil's lawyer, Allen Rogers of Wake County, said McNeil plans to plead not guilty. His bail is set at $100,000.That's it?
Rogers said Friday he had only limited contact with his client.
"His family was contacted, and he came down to the Law Enforcement Center and turned himself in," Rogers said, following McNeil's appearance in court Friday.
McNeil's girlfriend, April Autry, appeared at the hearing but declined comment.
Rogers said he was unaware of any possible relationship between McNeil and the girl's family, or the man whom police had originally charged with kidnapping Wednesday. Those charges, against 30-year-old Clarence D. Coe, were dropped after McNeil turned himself in.
Police haven't disclosed what McNeil is telling investigators, beyond that he admitted to kidnapping Shaniya.
Police have not said specifically what led to their decision to have the charges against Coe dismissed.

I think the father said that he wanted Shaniya to "have a mother." Her mother was never a part of her life. He seemed like a genuine heartbroken father in that video. You could hear the pain in his voice. It was awful. I think he made decision out of a big heart and it came back to bite him in the ass. I cannot fault him for that. She was only living with her for 3 weeks and she gets kidnapped? What. The. Fuck.!

A security video showed the girl with a man believed to be McNeill at the hotel at 6:11 a.m. Tuesday.
By the time Fayetteville investigators reached the hotel, however, the man and the child had checked out, police said.
Shaniya appeared to be "well taken care of," Theresa Chance, spokeswoman for the Fayetteville Police Department, said Thursday night.
"We're hoping we find her alive," Chance said Friday.
Non-family abductions account for about 58,000 missing children nationwide each year, but 98 percent of those children are returned to their families unharmed, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Investigators are continuing to follow leads in the case, she said, including re-interviewing Shaniya's mother to gather any additional information.
One such tip led to McNeill's arrest, she said, declining to disclose how and where he was found.
His attorney, Allen Rogers, said McNeill surrendered to police after investigators contacted his family.
"Obviously, it's a very serious situation. Our hearts go out to the family of this young girl. I certainly hope she's safely returned to her family," Rogers said, declining further comment.
McNeill has a criminal history, including arrests for fleeing to elude arrest, assault on a female and drug possession.
His relationship to Shaniya and her family is unknown, but Chance said that he admitted to investigators that he had abducted the girl.
Coe plans legal action against police
Police arrested Coe late Wednesday and charged him with first-degree kidnapping in the case.
A witness saw a man driving away from the Sleepy Hollow Mobile Home Park on Tuesday with Shaniya in his car, police said.
The man was initially believed to be Coe, but Chance said investigators have determined he wasn't involved in Shaniya's disappearance. McNeill told investigators that he abducted the girl, Chance said, so the charge against Coe was dropped Friday morning.
In an interview with WRAL News Friday, Coe said he planned to take legal action against police, saying that officers didn't initially tell him why he was being arrested.
“I didn’t get due process. They didn’t even have probable cause to arrest me,” Coe said. “They told me that they had three witnesses that could place me in the neighborhood."
Coe said he was with family members and babysitting his nephew at the time he was accused of driving away from the mobile home park.
While he never lived at the home, Coe said he is the boyfriend of Shaniya's mother. He said he doesn't know McNeill.
Neighbors Travis Smith and George King said they often saw Shaniya playing and frequently saw her mother with Coe.
“He seemed more upset about the girl being missing than the mother did, because he kept pacing up and down the hill, looking like he was mad or whatever that the girl was gone," said Smith, who lives two doors down from the Davis family. "To find out he got arrested, it kind of threw me off the track a little bit.”
Neighbors expressed shock at the kidnapping.
“It’s quite shocking to know that it happened so close. You’d never think something like that would happen so close to your own house,” Smith said.
Coe appealed for the return of the girl, who he said calls him daddy.
"Whoever knows where Shaniya is, just do the right thing," he said.
Shaniya is described as 3 feet tall and 40 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt with pink underwear. She is thin and has a scar on her foot.
