Plymouth Township Police are asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a man they said admitted sexually assaulting a young child he was babysitting.
The request follows the federal indictment of Nicholas Cymes, 32, of the Plymouth Hills Mobile Home Park on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography.
Charges are pending in the child assault case which remains under investigation by the Plymouth Township police.
Someone identified as a concerned citizen in paperwork filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit this month also said Cymes admitted having a crush on a 14-year-old girl.
Cymes was arrested after police searched his home in August and seized about 400 DVDs and CDs. Videos that were seized included images of children as young as 1 year old being sexually exploited, according to the criminal complaint.
Anyone who has information, including about other potential victims, is asked to call Plymouth Township Police Detective Sgt. Steve Rapson at 734-354-3233.
