Columbus, OH police tell people to move out

This is funny to me because when I was traveling from the East Coast to Indianapolis I stopped in this lovely town for a drink and a potty break and I was in a store for less than 5 minutes and someone broke the drivers side window out of my rental car and stole my GPS. Fuckers. All the police did was tell me oh someone saw it and wrote the tag number down but it's a car reported stolen. So yeehaw. I had to pay a couple hundred dollars to fix the stupid window. And they gave me a police report number. Wow. It was cold driving those last 300 miles with no window in April in the middle of the night. Fuck Columbus haha

COLUMBUS: Residents of one Ohio city are complaining that police officers are telling them if they're fed up with crime in their neighborhoods they should move out.

At least two Columbus city council members have heard the complaint.

An aide to Councilwoman Charleta Tavares says she has received more than 20 calls. Councilman Andrew Ginther says if police are making the comments, they're neither acceptable nor appropriate, though he says he believes most officers want to be helpful.

A police spokesman says the department addresses the complaints when it's given the name of an officer.

A police union official says he understands if officers are frustrated with crime. Fraternal Order of Police President Jim Gilbert says: "It's like the OK Corral out there."

This isn't from the same town, but the same state.

A southwest Ohio county is suspending an emergency dispatcher accused of sleeping on the job, following an earlier investigation into another employee's handling of the 911 call in a bathtub drowning.

Warren County commissioners ordered Shawn Mason suspended for three days after he missed a medical emergency call. He earlier received warnings for dozing on the job. A message was left on his home phone Friday.

The county call center has come under scrutiny for handling of the 911 call last year when Ryan Widmer reported his wife, Sarah, drowned in their tub. A jury convicted Widmer of murder, but he will get a new trial because of juror misconduct.

Authorities said the dispatcher in that case sounded confused, but officials concluded he was not sleeping.

Hmm. I am fron Southwest Ohio originally. Born and raised in Cincinnati. Yeehaw.
I see that Over The Rhine is now one of THE highest murder areas of the nation.
Ohio just might give Florida a run for its money.

Do people there lack common sense that they have to be told something so obvious?

I'm in Ohio, we could give Florida a run for sure. We don't get too many of the big media stories like they do but there's plenty of ignorance, silliness and imagine thats in our news.

here's a pretty good one, Guy dressed as Breathalyzer gets a DUI.
Got pulled over going the wrong way on the highway.

I lived in Columbus Ohio for 6+ years.. I liked it better than Michigan (god things here suck). There are nice area's of Columbus (quite a bit) but there are several area's I wouldn't go in without a kevlar vest.
