Alexandria Phipps, 15, disappeared on her way to school *found*

THOUSAND OAKS -- Authorities are asking for the public's help in the search for a 15-year-old girl who was last seen walking to Westlake High School Monday morning. It's feared the teen may have been abducted, officials said.

Alexandria "Allie" Phipps left her Thousand Oaks home around 7 a.m. Monday to walk to the school, which is about a mile and a half away from her home, according to Det. Eric Buchow of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

She never arrived at the school, he said.

Investigators say Phipps, an honors student, moved to the area from Fresno about two months ago and has few friends.

She has no history of running away and is described as a quiet girl with no criminal history.

The fact that the dogs lost her scent 1/2 mile from her house makes me think abduction as well, but I hope I'm wrong.

    Sounds definitely like an abduction.

The frantic search for a missing 15-year-old girl is over.

Authorities said Alexandria "Allie" Phipps has been found safe at a Los Angeles youth center.

Phipps left her Thousand Oaks home around 7 a.m. Monday to walk to Westlake High School, which is about a mile and a half away from her home, according to Det. Eric Buchow of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

But instead of going to school, the teen took a bus to the youth center.

Somebody at the youth center was watching the news, saw Phipps' picture, recognized her and contacted deputies.

Authorities retrieved her and reunited her with her mother.

Investigators say Phipps, an honor student, moved to the area from Fresno about two months ago and has few friends.
