WV - A third person was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with a Putnam Co. sexual abuse case. Edward Beckett, 46, was charged with two counts of sexual abuse.

According to the criminal complaint, Beckett had sex with the female victim, who was 12 years old at the time, between May and August of 2006.

Police said he admitted to the crimes on Thursday morning.

In February, Ray Parsons, the girl's father, was charged with two counts of incest and sexual abuse. The girl's mother, Mima Parsons, was arrested as an accessory.

Investigators say she allowed the sexual abuse to happen yet took no action to stop it. The girl told a school counselor who called the sheriff's department.

I know the story is about Beckett, but I couldn't pass up these mugshots--those are the parents, not Beckett. It's people like this that give West Virginia its bad name!
