Alyna Gutierrez Hides Her Baby in Closet, Claims Miscarriage

Police in Lancaster arrested a 19-year-old woman on charges of child neglect and attempted murder Tuesday.

According to authorities, Alyna Gutierrez walked into the emergency room of the Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center saying she had had a miscarriage. Her father reportedly drove her to the hospital because she was complaining about abdominal pain and bleeding.

Gutierrez told doctors a miscarriage occured at her home and she flushed the remains down the toilet, says Detective Miguel Torres of the Lancaster Sheriff's Station.

The attending doctor decided Gutierrez was too far along to have had a miscarriage.

While Gutierrez was at the hospital, her mother found a newborn girl wrapped in towels in the teen's bedroom.

Deputies found the baby in a cabinet and doctors said the child was in good condition.

Dumb girl. I hope everyone gets the help needed and the baby is watched like a hawk.

I wonder what she planned to do after she returned home? Act like the baby fairy left a gift in her closet?

Maybe she was going to attribute the kind and generous act upon neighbors...knowing she had just miscarried and that she'd be an excellent mother...they broke into her house and left a baby in her closet for her to find. A belated Welcome Wagon basket...

It's a good think Grandma found that sweet baby before the poor thing perished.

And Alyna is not only dumber than a box of rocks for thinking she could get away w this... She's selfish, she was concerned enough for herself to get medical treatment, but not concerned at all about the baby she left to die in her closet.

I was wondering the same thing. If they let her keep this baby, knowing what she is capable of. LORD have mercy on this child.

She's lucky baby didn't die. On the other hand, she didn't kill baby, as I have read far too many horror stories on that account.

IF she did get baby back, I hope holding baby and looking into her eyes changes her completely. And that she didn't die she realizes they both get a chance at a good life together. DON'T throw that away. I agree, she should be watched closely.
