Jack Hays broke into a woman's house & raped her multiple times within a 3 hr. period

A man convicted of sexually abusing a minor in 1993, is back in jail after police say he raped a Des Moines woman on and off for three-hours overnight Saturday.

35-year-old Jack Hays allegedly broke into the home of a 42-year-old friend and raped her a number of times during the three-hour period. Police say when Hays left the home around 3:00 Sunday morning, the victim called police. Police took Hays in for questioning where he admitted to the crime. He was arrested and transported to the Polk County jail.

Hays is charged with second-degree sexual abuse and burglary. Hays was released from prison in 2007 after being convicted of sexually abusing a child between 1-day-old and 13-years-old.

Sgt. Lori Lavorato said Hays assaulted the woman, 42, for more than three hours. The woman finally talked Hays into leaving because her husband would be home soon, police said.

If this is what he does to his "friends" I sure as hell would not want to be his enemy.

I wonder if they knew about his past. He's only been out for about 2 years, so if they didn't know him before - they didn't know him for long since his release.

Hays isn't crazy enough to stay when he hears that hubby is on his way so at least he won't be able to claim insanity - though he clearly acts it.

Man found guilty of sexual abuse, burglary

A Polk County jury on Wednesday convicted a man of sexually assaulting a woman who died before she could testify against him.

The jury convicted Jack Hays of three counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree burglary.

Iowa’s online court system doesn’t show a sentencing date.

Hayes, a convicted sex offender, was accused of breaking into the home of Frances Brazzle and sexually assaulting her in September 2009.

Police said she suffered from several health issues, and there were no obvious signs of foul play, forced entry or attempted suicide.

Convicted sex offender gets 3 life terms

A Polk County man convicted as a repeat sex offender has been sentenced to three consecutive life terms plus 25 years for his attack on a woman who later was found dead.

Jack Hays, 37, was convicted in February of three counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree burglary. Police said Hays, a previous sex offender, was accused of breaking into the home of Frances Brazzle and sexually assaulting her in September 2009.
