Deputies: Mom Let Boyfriend Beat Baby

LAURENS, S.C. -- A Laurens couple has been charged with child abuse after a 16-month-old child was beaten, deputies said.

Deputies said 26-year-old Stacy Roenapagel allowed her boyfriend, Phillip Chapman, 23, to beat her baby. Deputies said Chapman hit the baby and squeezed his face, leaving the child bruised.

Investigators said that Roenapagel was charged because she allowed the abuse.
