Isabel Hernandez almost crushed Yasmin Frausto in the parking lot

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - The 4-year-old girl nearly crushed by a car speeding in reverse says she saw the car coming and jumped out of the way to avoid being struck.

Yasmin Frausto was walking with her family near the Valley View Market in Sunnyside on Sunday when a woman, who has since been cited for reckless driving, nearly hit the little girl.

Isabel Hernandez, 34, who was parked in the market lot is said to have accelerated in reverse at a high rate of speed striking a pickup truck before striking the parking pole that saved Frausto's life.

Hernandez hit the pole launching her Toyota Camry into the air before it came to rest on the next pole.

Yasmin is having a hard time with the accident, but said she's excited to go back to school.

Hernandez has been cited for reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.

It was meant to be on video!! Yasmin, just skipping along behind her parents, looks like she might be eating something, then you can tell she senses that vehicle is not stopping, so she runs backwards. I just love the agility of children, especially this little girls......

And yep, a ticket for Stupidity, should be a code for that somewhere on the law books! Just think of the money they could bring in on those!! Hernandez must've been in an extreme hurry, too, her passenger wasn't even given the chance to get in and shut the door....

Police say Hernandez had been parked at the market, 107 W. Linoln Ave., when she backed up at high speed. Meanwhile, her passenger was trying to get in the car.

The car, with its passenger door open, struck a Ford pickup parked next to it, reversed onto West Lincoln and continued backwards into the market’s parking lot.

how fucking fast do you drive in reverse? good god. that woman should not be allowed another drivers lincense EVER....and she's a shitty friend as well.

I thought the same thing!! And it was probably a blessing that the parents were walking ahead of her, they didn't have time to turn around and push her out of the way, and they would've been crushed for trying......

I found the arrest/booking report for Isabela Hernandez, the Police must've arrested the passenger, too!!

I agree, Just my luck sucks; She was trying to fly, wonder why she wasn't allowing the passenger to complete getting in, were they fighting over who would drive? The market parking lot that Isabel "flew" from is a Liquor store...
