Aimee Sword Faces Sex Charges after Finding Son on the Internet

Mich. (WXYZ) - A woman who gave her son up for adoption 10 years ago is now accused of having sex with the teen after finding him on the internet.

Aimee Louise Sword, 35 of Waterford Township, has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct in the case.

Investigators say she used the internet to find her biological son.

Sword was arrested after Child Protective Services informed police of the sex accusations.

The woman's lawyer says she maintains her innocence. She is currently free on bond.

For once i am kinda speechless. Is the kid 10 or was he older when she gave him up? Not that it makes a difference, just morbid curiosity. Glad she didn't just keep him around as a fuck toy and did give him up. She doesn't need kids.

Waterford Township police say 35-year-old Aimee Louise Sword used the internet to track down a teenage son she gave up for adoption years earlier and had sex with him.

Sword surrendered on April 24 and is charged with third-degree criminal sexual assault.

Police and prosecutors tell the Oakland Press that Sword put her son up for adoption more than 10 years prior to the assaults, but did not release his age.

Attorney Kenneth Burch says his client "maintains her presumption of innocence" and has had a hard time with the accusations.

Child Protective Services notified detectives about the situation.

How come I dont have any thanks!!>>?I remember about 15 yrs ago a girl I knew growing up found her birth brother (they had been given up for adoption) they were both married and had children.They ran off together!!And I would talk to another girl we grew up with that kept in contact with her and we were always waiting to turn the TV on and see them on Geraldo or something.I have no clue where they are now but they lost their kids and her hubby actually moved by me here in the city and is remarried now and I see him once in awhile and alls I know is she has no contact with their kids.The kids are old enough to decide and they dont want any.

Yuck is right - but based on the story cited it appears the boy is now a teenager (at least 13) who was given up 10 years go - which would make him anywhere from 3 - 9 when adopted.

If so, that would make her anywhere from 16 - 22 when she concieved him. I suspect she's been a victim at some point too. (not an excuse - just a theory)

They had a Psychiatrist on this mornings news and hes dealt with some high profile sick cases and said this is the sickest thing hes seen.Hes never had a case like this and he was older not a younger guy.Im trying to find them on the sites but its not posted as of yet.

It's a story that began with a reunion -- a mom hitting the internet to find the son she put up for adoption. Then it's alleged reunion turned into abomination.

Police say the 35-year-old woman started having sex with her now-teenage son. And it's not clear if the young man even knew who she really was.

Writing in response to the Oakland Press story, a commenter who identified herself as Stephanie Ramirez said, "Me and my family have known aimee for 30 years and she would never do such a thing like this."

"Obviously the facts and details are not known yet. She is innocent. Aimee if you read this me and my family are behind you all the way. if you need me get ahold of me you know where my mother lives im just around the corner. Keep your head up."

Another comment since removed from the Oakland Press site read:

But here on MLive Detroit, commenter alfy1 said he knew Sword for a short time 15 years ago and described her as "not sound of mind" and "somewhat of a smooth talk con person."

On her own Myspace page, Sword wrote on August 29, "She rises during the worst of obstacles....Quoted by people magizine about lil kim....Reminded me of myself...." and listed her mood as "Strong (az always)."

I'm not sure about shaming this woman just yet. Maybe it's just me not wanting to believe that a woman would do something like this, who knows. But what I do know is that there has to be more to the story then what the news is telling us.

I'm with you on this one. I bolded the red flags I saw in the comment. Other kids are involved, implies she has other kids. Maybe the kid is angry at her for giving him up, and then going on to start another family.

So he made up that he fucked her? I think if this was a teen girl and her bio father tracked her down and had sex with her you all would totally believe the girl, emotional problems or not. Maybe the fact that she is MILF like is also getting to you, but damn, that isn't something I would make up. It sounds awfully embarrassing for a teen boy to admit he did his own mom.

Yeah, that's kinda what I'm thinking too. Most kids who have been given up anytime after 6 months old have some sort of emotional problems. This kid was five when he was given up - that's got to be heart-breaking.

Welll they had a psychiatrist on talking about it and I really wish they would post it already but sometimes they hold the footage all day until its been aired morning,noon,dinner and 11 pm!!I cant see the comments hes said being before he checked the story first to be sure its true.He said with this boys first sexual experience being as it was(with his mom) opens the door for yrs of trouble.Hopefully the reports are wrong but we will just have to wait and see.

I read a lot about Genetic Sexual Attraction recently after reading about siblings who had married and later found out they were related. It is gross in my mind and I DO NOT condone it but after all the reading I did, depending on some researchers views it kind of in a really weird way makes sense how why it happens to some extent. I can't understand the sexual relationships that are achieved between two people who KNOW they are related but I could see people being attracted/drawn to someone they don't know they are related to.

In this case, if she did have sex with him that's really messed up. But if this is the result of the child trying to get back at her...he needs some serious help.

this is very disturbing and bizarre, but unfortunately not unheard of. there was a BBC America documentary on at the beginning of the summer called Brothers and Sisters in Love that was all about "genetic sexual attraction". it had two brother and sister couples(one couple had four severely disabled children, caused by the incest), one older brother and sister who met in their 50's and felt attraction they didn't act upon, and in the most deeply disturbing segment, a mother and adult son, who had been adopted. there is no information on the BBC America website and it doesn't appear to be on Youtube. this was the most information i could find about it from a quick google search:

this is a really disturbing story, and though it could be possible that there is some major information missing or problem with the case, it could also be just as it says. and from what's been shown so far and what she was charged with, this could be an incestuous abusive sick woman. if her son has emotional and mental issues, maybe that makes him the vulnerable one here, and she may have exploited that. i don't see why that would excuse her or be a red flag that it's his fault. if this wasn't about this woman coercing or forcing him into sex, why would this have been reported and investigated as it was, with her being charged with criminal sexual conduct? if this had been his idea, why the charges? i don't see that here. it looks like she's the problem, and rightfully charged.

also, the second story with the comments supporting her are not a new news story, but visitor comments from the original news story. comments by her friends saying she's innocent may not be worth much as evidence for her defence. these are people who know her that are trying to defend her, and when people like that come and leave supportive comments on any of the stories here it's NOT seen as something showing they're probably innocent.

anyone who's been here for a while (most of us in the thread) has seen sexually abusive mothers, and defenders of the people featured in threads or stories. what's different here? yes, there is something especially disturbing when it's the mom accused of this, and it's hard to imagine. none of that means it doesn't happen. i don't expect this story to have any bombshells or turn into something else. this looks like a horrible and disturbing crime from a strange, sick woman. it's awful and sad and probably happened more or less as they said it did. and whatever issues that kid had before, now he especially needs help and i hope that he gets it.

As I said when I was 27 a girl I had grown up with found her brother they had been given up for adoption.Both were married and had kids.They decided to meet(lived about 400 miles apart) and met a couple more times and all of a sudden they ran off together!I do remember police being involved but I dont remember exactly why,I think the brothers wife reported them but I cant say for sure I dont remember.The last I heard they had split but they had been back and forth and I remember thinking I was going to turn Geraldo or Sally on one day and see them on there.They both lost their kids I have no clue where they are anymore.Kathys husband moved by me into the city for the kids sake b/c a town under 3000 you know the kids would be the one to suffer.They have no contact with her,they are my kids age so young adults now and old enough to decide what they want to do.
