APPLE VALLEY -- A known gang member is suspected of knowingly exposing numerous women to the virus that causes AIDS.
San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies arrested 40 year old Dennis Rios on September 2, 2009 on a narcotics violation at his home in the 12000 block of Navajo Road in Apple Valley.
During the course of this investigation, deputies learned Rios has been HIV positive for the
last 10 years.
During this time,
Rios has been having unprotected sex with women without informing them of his HIV status.
One potential victim has already been located and several more are expected to come forward as this investigation continues.
If convicted of the intent to expose someone to HIV, Rios could face up to 8 years in prison.
Rios is a member of a gang and goes by the street name
"Dog".
