8 yr. old Correy Massey punches pregnant school employee

FORT MYERS: An 8-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday after police say he punched a pregnant school employee in the stomach at the Lee Charter Academy.

Correy Lamar Massey, of Fort Myers, is charged with one count of battery on a school employee.

Authorities say Massey punched Fran Albany in the stomach and back when she wouldn’t return a pencil he lent to another classmate.

Albany told deputies she took the pencil away from the classmate after a boy complained about getting hit.

Albany, who’s three months pregnant, told Massey to sit down, but he kept running at her and punching her, according to a police report.

Police say Albany was able to restrain the boy and take him to the front office, where staff members tried to stop him from attacking her.

Police arrived, calmed the boy, then arrested him and took him to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

At the time of the incident police report neither Albany or Massey had visible injuries.
