Villarreal told police Estrada had asked him for money to help pay his rent, and when Villarreal said he could only give him $135, Estrada became angry.
That's when Villarreal went to McDonald's to get lunch for himself and Estrada, but when he returned to Estrada's house, Estrada got even angrier and said Villarreal had bought the wrong hamburgers, authorities said.
He grabbed a metal baseball bat by the front door, the affidavit states, and then struck Villarreal on the left side of his torso and his right knee cap before he threatened Villarreal not to call police.
According to the affidavit, the two men had known each other for nearly two years.
