TAMPA, FL -- Bernard Quillen and Anastasia Usher are facing child neglect charges after deputies found a drugs and a loaded handgun inside their home on Spartan Court early Saturday morning.

According to the arrest affidavit, detectives used a search warrant to check out their home about 1 a.m. Saturday. Inside, detectives say drugs, drug paraphernalia and the gun were inside the home along with
a 14-year-old boy and 3-week-old baby.

Since there was a danger the children could have ingested the drugs the couple was charged with child neglect along with the various drug related crimes.

Detectives confiscated 28 grams of cocaine, 104 grams of pot, 8 grams of ecstasy and nearly 3 grams of Xanax along with the loaded 9mm Luger.

Usher was on probation for animal torture and using animals for gambling.

Both Quillen and Anastasia are held in Hillsborough County Jail without bond.

Here is the animal abuse charge against Anastasia Usher (October 2004).

TAMPA - Two weeks after Tampa police and animal services investigators removed 24 pit bullterriers from their north Tampa duplex apartment, James E. Keister Jr. and Anastasia C. Usher have been arrested on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including animal cruelty, facilitating animal fighting and confining animals without food and water.

Keister, 24, and Usher, 26, were arrested Tuesday night at their apartment, 10004 N 11th St. Usher was released on $1,500 bail. Keister remains in jail, with bail set at $33,000, according to county records. Keister's criminal record includes arrests on charges of child abuse, burglary, theft and drug possession.

When authorities searched the apartment Sept. 21, they said they found dogs crammed in outdoor cages and locked rooms, in some cases with nothing to eat or drink. A few of the dogs had cuts, small puncture wounds or scars - signs they've been used in organized dog fights, investigators said. Others were emaciated.

24 pit bulls in a tiny apartment? Maybe if the laws were steeper she wouldn't have been out yet to make and neglect her babies... who she exposed to just about every drug I can think of.

AN OUNCE of coke?!? almost a quarter pound of weed? I think we can get an "intent to distribute" on those quantities!!
