A 20-year-old man was being held in the Bexar County Jail on Friday in connection with a suspected case of child abuse.
According to an arrest affidavit,
Gabriel Eron Hall and his girlfriend, Maria Lujano, got into an argument Wednesday after she asked him to move out of her residence.
Lujano then placed their 4-month-old son in a baby swing and went to the bathroom. Moments later, she heard the baby screaming, the affidavit stated. Lujano returned to the living room and saw Hall violently shaking their son while he was in the swing, the affidavit stated. Lujano yelled at Hall to stop and pushed him away.
That's when Hall told Lujano that he didn't shake the baby "that hard" and that if he meant to hurt the child
that is "what he gets" for her being his mother, the affidavit stated.
Lujano then called her sister, who called police.
The baby was taken to University Hospital, where it was determined that he had
swelling in his head and some bleeding and bruises in his upper front torso.
