Stacie Brodnax and Charles Clark beat 3-year old and make him bleed

A West Monroe couple was arrested Wednesday after a 3-year-old child was found with welts and a bloody mouth.

Stacie Brodnax, 25, and her 21-year-old boyfriend Charles Clark, both of 1616 Arkansas Road, were charged with cruelty to a juvenile.

According to an arrest affidavit, Brodnax, the mother of the child, told a West Monroe police officer that she and Clark punished the child for acting badly at day care.

Brodnax said she held the child down while Clark struck the baby with a large plastic spoon, producing welts on the child’s back side.

The affidavit said the child was placed in bed and Clark asked if the child would be good tomorrow. When the child supposedly said no, Brodnax said he heard Clark strike the child again and leave for work.

When she went to check on the child, it was bleeding from the mouth.

Brodnax’s mother called police and Brodnax was arrested immediately.

Police came for Clark, who is not the child’s father, at his job. They were booked at Ouachita Correctional Center. Bond for each is $15,000.

Yay to mom for calling the cops on her daughter... so many times mothers side with their children even when they shouldnt

It is so over the top the way these asshats punish small children. They are not teaching the child anything good.

When my kids misbehave, ultimately I look at myself and my parenting - how I can do better. My goal is not to hurt or make them afraid, but to raise them to make good decisions because as they get older I won't be around to monitor them as much and eventually when they grow up, not much at all.

It's like they are reactive instead of proactive, and they don't bother to look down the road and see the possible outcomes of their parenting.

Kudos for Mom turning her daughter in.

I hope grandma gives her daughter a beat down, when she gets out. Leave her mouth bloody, and knock out some teeth just for kicks too
