37-year-old Vincent Blanda shook his 5-month-old daughter because she would not stop crying. She was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where she died yesterday.

While he's currently charged with child endangering and domestic violence, the Butler County Prosecutor's Office says that charge will be upgraded to murder.

This group makes me laugh a lot, I have learned not to drink anything till after I read replies.....Saves money that way, I don't have to go out and get a new computer keyboard. I have had to buy three since Angel started posting....lol

Thanks, Nurseronda, I never thought I was all that funny. Well, I did, but nobody else I know really appreciated my brand of humor - everybody I know says I'm just a sarcastic smartmouth! I guess that's what passes for funny around here, though, huh? I knew there was a reason I liked it here so much......birds of a feather, right? I love it here, man!!!!!!!!

I've just started putting plastic over the keyboard of my laptop when I visit with my friends here, in order to keep from having to replace it, or have it repaired. Clear plastic, so I can still see to type. Pepsi and coffee are hard to get out of a laptop keyboard! All of y'all keep me in stitches!

A man who told a 911 operator "I did something stupid" has been charged with murder in the death of his 5-month-old baby.

Police in Hamilton say 37-year-old Vincent Blanda called 911 on Monday and said his child was comatose. He said he shook the infant because she wouldn't stop crying.

Blanda initially was charged with domestic violence and child endangering. The new charges were filed after the baby died the next day.

Blanda is being held in the Butler County jail.

The 911 tape also recorded Blanda saying that his wife warned him not to hurt the infant: "She already said if I hurt her, even accidentally you know, then I'm going to jail." He also described the baby's condition as "kind of comatose."

That's why I only recommend baby-shaking if their diaper is already soiled. Let the coroner deal with the mess.

Another solution is Freon. It isn't the loudness of the wailing that annoys, it is the frequency. Freon has the opposite effect that Helium has, lengthening the vocal cords, and turning the baby-wailing into a low hum that does not ruin the football game.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A St. Albans man who said the devil
made him be cruel to his children has been sentenced to four decades in prison for the February 2007 shaking death of his 3-month-old son.

Thirty-three-year-old Joseph Edwin Dawson pleaded guilty in January to charges of child abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian causing death and child abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian causing injury.

The 40-year sentence handed down yesterday by a Kanawha County
circuit judge is the maximum possible for the fatal charge. Dawson
also received a consecutive one-to-five-year sentence for the
injury charge, which stemmed from an incident in which he broke the
clavicle of his 3-year-old stepson in May 2006.

In a June letter to his now ex-wife, Dawson detailed the abuse of the children but said it was Satan who was controlling his actions.
