This happened on July 23, 2009, posting it now, because 1) It wasn't posted before by anyone 2)John Farthing II survived and now in recovery, I originally thought with the damage and his injuries that he might not! 3) The accident happened near my daughters home and she is familiar with the injured man!4) Deidre needs to be shamed!!

A Quitman woman was arrested and a Conway man airlifted to a Little Rock hospital after a hit-and-run crash Thursday night.

Mullikin didn’t stop after the accident, according to the reports. Passers-by saw Farthing laying at the side of the road and blocked traffic with their vehicle until police and rescue workers arrived.

Minutes after the crash, a Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office deputy working an unrelated traffic stop on Highway 65 was approached by a motorist who said she’d seen a vehicle heading north on Highway 65 turn down Pickles Gap Road with what looked like a motorcycle pinned underneath it.

The deputy located what was left of the scooter on Pickles Gap Road. Mullikin had dragged it under her vehicle for several thousand feet.

Charles Rummel also called FCSO Thursday night to say that an unfamiliar, dark-colored car had pulled into the driveway of his Brian Hill Road residence, several miles from the crash site, with damage to the front passenger’s side.

“I was out taking care of my dog when this car came down the road and pulled into my driveway,” Rummel said Friday. “I didn’t see anybody get out, but later I saw a cell phone or something lighting up out in the woods and I called the law. There were police out here real fast.”

Hilarious, Deidre was hiding in a field, calling a friend (who later calls SO and reports her) on her cell, they found her, by the light of her cell phone!

After her arrest Mullikin agreed to chemical testing and registered a breath alcohol content of .15. She was charged with class-D felony failure to stop after an accident with injury and the misdemeanor offenses of second-offense DWI and careless or prohibited driving. She was released Friday on a $4,235 bond and set a pretrial date of Sept. 17.

The officer also noted in his report that he requested another officer interview her, because she “didn’t like me from a previous arrest.”

This officer had arrested Mullikin before dawn on July 7 for public intoxication after she walked away from an altercation with a group of friends, according to a report of this incident. In the altercation, the report states, she slapped a friend who had taken her keys because he felt she was too intoxicated to drive.

I was born in Shawnee Mission, Kansas but raised in Arkansas. I graduated from Quitman High School. I currently go to Stetson Univerity on a scholarship. I will grauate in the spring. I want to go to medical school.

My mom was single raising three kids. She worked two jobs for a little while, until we were old enough to go to school. I worked hard at getting my life together throughout childhood until this day. I go to Stetson University and have nineteen more hours to go before I can graduate. I have a scholarship to go to college but have had to take some time off to get myself together. I recently lost my job working at a restaurant that I had been at for four years. I couldn't work with those same people because they made me unhappy.

Restaurants seem to attract all kinds of drama from sex to drugs. It was a good experience and right now I am extremely happy. I just cleaned my apartment thoroughly. I always try to be productive in every way possible and be happy while doing that. I guess there are some people who just can't tell you when they are pissed off. Believe me you will know when I am mad at you. I am a Fire sign so I always tell people, "You're playing with fire and you're about to get burned." I am a very open, honest person. So, if you need the sugar-coated version, go to the Miss. Pris next door because those pants do make your butt look big.

In most places that would be considered an obstruction and be illegal.

one of the few good things La . does is require dui's to attend substance abuse programs for a length of time determined by the judge and based on the circumstances surrounding the event. that said, i think this woman should attend such a program; at the very least it will ruin her drinking. lots of people come into AA on what is called the"honor system"..
..yes, your honor, no, your honor...and quite a few stay to find better lives. i'm very glad her victim is recovering. damn, two arrests in one month!

All the Judges in Faulkner County,AR are elected, unless a new Judicial circuit is opened up(such as Juvenile or Drug court) and then the Governor appoints the Judge!
I believe the reason for the low bond, was guideline laws for each charge and the DA not asking the Judge to set it any higher! However the bond was cash only, so a Bondsman is involved and whatever possessions she may own were probably put up!
Faulkner County,AR does have drug court, I hear it is extremely strict! I hope that she is attending AA,now, and continues no matter what happens in court! It is quite obvious that Deidre cannot handle alcohol, period.
Alot of folks have contacted the Arkansas chapter of MADD, they'll be watching and keep everyone under control.
John Farthing II's father is a well known Professor at Hendrix College, so there's that relationship that will factor in to this, as well....
