LONGVIEW, Wash. -- A Longview math teacher and soccer coach has been arrested on charges he had sex with a 15-year-old student.

Joseph Starkey, who teaches math at R.A. Long High School and is an assistant soccer coach, allowed a 15-year-old runaway to stay at his apartment, according to court records.

Police found the runaway, who is a math student of Starkey’s, at his Longview apartment over the weekend, investigators said.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Starkey admitted to police that he had sex with the 15-year-old girl.
