Daryl Comolli sexually assaulted a 7 year old girl

TAMPA — A 24-year-old north Tampa man has been accused of raping a 7-year-old victim that police say he attacked in his car while parked at the Museum of Science and Industry.

In an arrest report, Tampa police say the crime occurred on May 30 at 2 p.m. and the victim later identified the man who assaulted her. Daryl Lee Comolli, of 19th St., knew the victim, and admitted under questioning that he touched and sexually assaulted the child, police said.

The arrest affidavit notes that Comolli has "numerous skulls'' tattooed over his whole body. He was being held without bail in the Orient Road Jail Wednesday, charged with one count of sexual battery on a victim under 12 and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Police say they have been investigating Comolli since the reported sexual battery took place in May. Detectives tracked him to the Lutz area on Wednesday, and Comolli was brought to Tampa Police Department headquarters for questioning. He confessed to the crime in detail, police say.

When Comolli was searched, officers found that he had a small amount of marijuana in his pocket.
