Christopher Lee Anson, 23, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for armed bank robbery, accused of robbing the White Rock Bank in Cannon Falls on July 7 at knifepoint and fleeing with $2,687.

He didn't even get out of Cannon Falls before being stopped by a police officer for speeding.
The officer who made the traffic stop was notified of the hold-up at the bank while he was getting information from Anson, according to the criminal complaint. The officer told Anson he'd have to mail him the speeding ticket, and Anson provided his address in Inver Grove Heights. Anson went on his way, and the officer responded to the alarm.

When he saw the bank's surveillance video, the officer recognized the robber as the man he'd stopped for speeding. Also, a bank employee recognized Anson as a prior customer.
