According to a Macon police news release, officers on Friday arrested 47-year-old Michelle Sheree Brooks Moore
on a felony murder charge.
Police say her grandmother, Clara Sipp, died last year. On Sept. 3, 2008, an ambulance took her to the Coliseum Hospital.
That night, according to a Macon police incident report, an officer said Sipp was covered with sores, including some that showed through to the bone
A nurse told police that Sipp was dehydrated and starving
and had the worst case of bed sores she'd ever seen
, according to the incident report.
Sipp died eight days later.
Moore told police that she had been trying to take care of her grandmother but had been busy
, the report says.
Macon police Sgt. Melanie Hofmann said investigators this week received GBI autopsy results showing that Sipp died from neglect and malnourishment.
