Mike Flint Beat, Choked, & Bit 7-Month-Old to Death; May Now Plead Guilty

QUEENSBURY — Michael Flint, Jr., who has been charged with killing his roommate’s infant son, may plead guilty in the case as early as Wednesday.

It was unclear if the condition of any plea deal would be cooperation against the mother of the child, who has been charged with second-degree manslaughter for allegations she didn’t protect the baby from Flint or seek medical help for the child when she should have.

Officials have said several times there would be no plea deal offer in the case, in light of the allegations that Flint brutally beat, choked and bit 7-month-old Colbi Bullock to death in November.

Flint lived in an apartment with Colbi's mother Alicia Lewie. He was not the baby’s father but cared for the boy while Lewie was at work in the days before his death.

Lewie was charged because numerous people saw the bruised, battered baby in the days before he died, and she was told to take him to the hospital by staff at Warren-Hamilton Counties Community Action. She lied to them and told them she had taken the baby to the hospital.

Flint, 22, is being held in Warren County Jail; Lewie, 22, is free on bail.

Flint has at least 10 prior criminal convictions including the beating of a puppy....

In a statement Flint gave police, he said “I have no idea why I bit his arms. I don’t know if I was angry or what. Thinking about it, I might have bit him to keep him quiet….I then stuck both my hands around his neck and I started squeezing. I squeezed his neck for about 20 to 30 seconds. I think it was enough to knock him out. He was still breathing." He told police he was “having a bad day."

“He would not stop crying. I got really frustrated and I slapped Colbi. I don’t know how many times. It was way too many,” Flint told police.

The autopsy showed the baby had a lacerated liver, broken ribs and a broken arm which may have resulted from Flint biting it.

... I have a 7 month old baby girl... This really bothers me. I am grateful everytime I see stuff like this that my husband and I were willing to make sacrifices so that he could be home with our amazing daughter...

Apparently this woman needed child care... so why didn't she seek help for it? Like paying for it from help with the state (yes she is working therefore she is putting into the system that would pay for it).... or how about child support from the child's father? (Again the state should be helping to enforce this if it isn't in place yet, funny thing is if she is on aid from the state she gets help getting child support faster than parents who don't).

The mother needs to be charged in this, beyond a shadow of a doubt. She ignored the child's injuries... She should've known about a roommates past before she allowed that person to be in her home, let alone to watch her child. She knew what was going on and not only failed to protect her baby but ignored it completely then lied about it. The people who saw the injuries should have called child services because a baby with that kind of wounds obviously wouldn't have been released without some kind of monitoring... Shame on everyone involved that failed this child.

Hell when my 10 yr old daughter fell/dropped my baby girl and the first place I called was her doctor and took her to the ER who were surprised I took her in so quickly and without her showing any signs of trouble (thank god she was not hurt in the least) *sigh*

The Warren County mother convicted of manslaughter in the death of her infant son had her sentence reduced today from 10 to 30 years in prison to 7 1/3 to 22 years.

"Some people call you a bad mother. I don't think you're just a bad mother, I think you're a sociopath," said Judge John Hall at Alicia Lewie's sentencing yesterday.

Today, the judge said after doing more research, he determined he could not impose consecutive manslaughter sentences against Lewie.

A jury determined Lewie did not do enough to protect her son from her abusive boyfriend, Michael Flint.
