Bantz Kemper: Yet Another Damn Baby Shaker

Bantz Jay Kemper, II, was charged Monday with child abuse resulting in bodily injury and child neglect creating injury or death. Kemper was caring for his two-year-old stepson on February 29th while his wife was at the store. According to the criminal complaint, Kemper called his wife and told her the toddler was having seizures. The court papers also state when the mother got home the child was unresponsive and Kemper called 911. The boy was taken to the hospital where he was later diagnosed with subdural hemotoma and was taken into brain surgery. According to the criminal complaint, during the surgery the doctor found the boy had suffered two head injuries that were from being shaken. The complaint also states the crime happened sometime between February 15th and 29th. During his arraignment Monday afternoon, Kemper cried and was comforted by his wife.

Mom said the boy is now sitting up in the bed and throwing a ball. He's expected to be released from the hospital soon.

Bantz Kemper, II was in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. His case is now headed to the grand jury.

Tuesday, Kemper was granted supervised visits with the two other children in the home.

The mother is due in court April 23.
