Dennis Goggin Gives Firefighter & Swim Coaches a Bad Name

A Chicago firefighter and girls swimming coach at Lincoln Park High School has been charged with indecent solicitation of a child and criminal sexual abuse. Dennis Goggin, 42, was arrested Thursday and is being held in the DuPage County Jail. A Chicago Public Schools spokesman said Goggin was fired Friday, and Goggin also has been placed on paid administrative leave from the Chicago Fire Department.

It's almost a cliche. When you sign up for MySpace, if you enter your sex as male, is the default mood set to horny?

A writer over at the Chicagoist reported on Goggin's arrest, then wrote, No word on who he was trying to solicit. Stories like this are just freaky. Why would a man in his forties want to be flirting with a minor? Is anyone else creeped out by that?
