Norman Nickels kills two teens, keeps bodies in basement.

Norman Nickels, 53, (left) and Joshua Yevak, 19, (right) in an undated photo from Yevak's MySpace page. Nickels is charged with killing Yevak and Cayla Turner, 17, of Port Carbon. Yevak and Turner were found shot to death in the basement of Nickels' Pottsville home Thursday March 20. The county coroner said they had been dead for at least a week. Nickels is being held at the Schuylkill County prison without bail.

I want to know what went down! Joshua had known Nickels and appeared to have partied with him. Nickels looks like a scary drunk bum! What caused him to kill them? He left the bodies in the basement of an apartment building he must have known he'd get caught! Didn't anyone hear gun shots?

I noticed Joshua had a son, I feel for him he will never know his daddy :(

And all that time, they were in "Uncle Ed's" basement. I wonder if that gross looking old bastard has a police record.

The bodies of two teenagers were found stacked in the basement of a Pottsville man's blood-spattered apartment, covered with a blanket because he didn't want to look at them while he was doing laundry, police said.

Pottsville police charged Norman Edward Nickle, 53, with homicide and aggravated assault in the fatal shootings of Joshua Yevak and Kayla Turner, who were dating and had been missing for several weeks.

A friend of Yevak said he had a close relationship with Nickle, who might have been his uncle.

Police said they got a call just before 4 p.m. Thursday that two bodies had been found in Nickle's apartment at 700 N. 13th St. When officers arrived, they heard a television in a first-floor apartment and went in.

They found large bloodstains on the carpet and Nickle lying awake on his bed with a shotgun at his side, police said. Blood was spattered in the apartment and there were signs that blood had pooled in several areas.

Police found the bodies in a corner of the basement, with personal items belonging to Yevak, 19, and Turner, 17. A wet-dry vacuum cleaner, stained with blood, was found nearby.

Joseph Lipsett said an autopsy was completed Monday at Pottsville Hospital on Joshua Yevak, 19, of 917 Davis Ave.

He said that forensic pathologist Dr. Richard P. Bindie listed the causes of death as “massive left hemothorax” or severe chest bleeding, along with perforations to the heart, left lung and aorta.

Lipsett said that the pellets from the 12-gauge shotgun blast that killed the teen initially struck his left arm and continued into his chest.
