And that someone that was shot happened to be a police deputy's dog.
Smart cookie here - Jerry Davis, running from cops since snatching a purse from a woman in a grocery store bathroom on Monday, was found inside of his car. Instead of staying there and surrendering himself like a good boy, he got out of the car drenched in gasoline and wielding a butcher knife. And then he started running.
The chase ended with Davis stabbing the K-9 dog of the deputy that'd located him within his vehicle. The deputy 'partner' of the dog put Davis down with a bullet. Nothing fatal, but enough to stop him - Davis was airlifted to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover.
Good news - the K-9 cop is expected to recover, too.
Stab a cop, expect to get shot. Guess some people don't realize those fuzzy guys that accompany those K-9 unit humans are considered 'cops' by their partners, too.
