Two female restaurant workers likely will be charged with assault and theft in connection with an alleged July 13 attack on a male college student at a Richmond McDonald's, Fort Bend County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Craig Brady said Tuesday.

The planned charges — Brady said the case will be turned over to the district attorney Friday or Monday — grow out of a 9 p.m. incident at McDonald's on Crabb River Road in which 20-year-old Raymond Smith complained he was bitten and fondled. One of the women also is accused of stealing compact discs from Smith's car. Both women are 18.

‘Goofing around'

“It's been blown way out of proportion,” Brady said, describing the events that led to the alleged attack as “aggressive flirting.” Brady said the women confessed to the misdemeanor offenses.

Brady, who said his department assigned “four or five” investigators to the case, described a scenario in which Smith was a willing participant.

“They were goofing around,” Brady said.

Smith, through his family's spokesman, activist Quanell X, said he was solicited by the women, one of whom bit him on the shoulder inside the restaurant.

“This is a serious situation,” the activist said, saying that sheriff's deputies responding to the call seemingly did not take the complaint with sufficient gravity.

Brady said deputies found a “red mark” but no broken skin on Smith's shoulder — the site at which the man said he had been bitten. Smith was treated at an area hospital after the incident.

Televised interview
Prior to the women's confessions, Brady had made televised statements in which he asserted Smith fabricated the complaint in an attempt to gain money from the restaurant.

Debbie Adams, owner of the Richmond restaurant, said safety of workers and customers is “our top priority.”

“We are working hard to gather the facts and are fully cooperating with authorities,” she wrote in an e-mail.

Adams did not respond to a question regarding whether the women remain employed at the restaurant.

The part I found rather interesting is were its mentioned that "his" familys spokesman is "activist". Quanell X, who just so happens to be the leader of the "New Black Panther Party" in Houston. WTF!!! a guy says he gets groped and he has a black Panther guy speaking for him??? And we are not suppose to find this suspicious??? So was Jessie Jackson to busy to help??
