FYI: Drinking gasoline is "never" going to transform you into Optimus Prime !!

A 14-year-old boy in China's Sichuan Province has been drinking gasoline to become a "valiant fighter" like his hero Optimus Prime in the movie Transformers: Revenge of the fallen, a media report said.

"Since the boy watched the film, he started drinking gasoline to become a valiant fighter," the West China Metropolis daily said citing his father.

He also likes to inhale the liquid gas in lighters, his mother said. He would steal gas lighters from her grocery store.

"We were shocked when one day we found out the boy drank half a bottle of gasoline from our motorcycle," the father said.

"Since my son started drink gasoline, his intelligence quotient dropped sharply," he said. "Before that, he was a very smart boy, and he could even repair the television. But now he did not know the answer of 7 plus 17."

The worried parents finally took their son to a Yibin City hospital, in Sichuan, where the doctors told them that the boy had mental disorders and strong "gasoline dependence".

"Gasoline contains a lot of lead, which can do harm to people's brain. To make things worse, the boy is in the physical development stage, and the lead has caused serious damage to his body," Peng Houquan, a doctor at the hospital said.

Hollywood blockbuster Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has earned about 400 million yuan ($58.4 million) since it debuted in China some two weeks ago.

Someone should have told me that last week!
Yet know, my master, God omnipotent,
Is mustering in his clouds on our behalf
Armies of pestilence; and they shall strike
Your children yet unborn and unbegot,
That lift your vassal hands against my head
And threat the glory of my precious crown.

Dad is just as delusional as his son. I doubt the kid had a double digit IQ to start with.

    Drinking Gasoline?
man, I have got gas in my mouth over the years siphoning gasoline.
Even spitting it out and not swallowing makes you sick and buzzed. It absorbs so fast. I cannot believe anyone can drink any amount of gasoline and survive.
    Therefore I call bullshit.

Well considering the source of the article malq, you could be 100% right about it being bullshit. I couldn't find one valid source of the news, but I don't speak Chinese. Still its a funny story. The lead fact is true I think, from what I have read before. And I have known some serious huffers in my time, that became similar to this kid. So I dont dicount it as much as you do. There are drunks who drink fucking sterno and that got to be much harder than gas is.

If he really did drink gas I would imagine his farts were pretty flammable and toxic.

    "Ingestion

Gasoline is not as readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract as from the respiratory tract. In adults, about 20 to 50 g can cause severe intoxication and 350 g (12 oz.) can result in death for a 70 kg individual. As little as 10 to 15 g (less than one-half ounce) may be fatal in children. Symptoms of intoxication by ingestion of gasoline can range from vomiting, vertigo, drowsiness and confusion to loss of consciousness, convulsions, hemorrhaging of the lungs and internal organs, and death due to circulatory failure. Ingestion can cause irritation to the gastrointestinal mucosa and can be complicated by pulmonary aspiration, resulting in chemical pneumonitis."

    Thanks tazzz.
I would not have believed any absorption could be possible. Ugh just getting a little in your mouth, it comes out your pore and burping it. makes me ill.
Regarding lead in gasoline, that has not been used since the 70's. The emissions were truly poisonous to a degree. The have additives now that are lead free that serve the same purpose as lead. If I remember right the lead was a lubricant for the valves seats and guides. I have an old harley that "requires" leaded because it has the bronze valves guides. But everyone tells me that I don't need leaded gas anymore because of the additives that replace lead.
    Still drinking gas = bad.
