John Allen whips kids into shape; Also serves up bleach water as punishment

A 35-year-old man has been charged with child abuse in connection with a case where police said he whipped a teen with an extension cord, causing serious injury to the boy.

John Allen faces charges of felony child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury and misdemeanor child abuse, said Lynn Kimbrough of the Denver District Attorney's Office.

Allen also forced the victim to drink soapy bleach water as punishment, Kimbrough said.

Allen is 6 feet tall and 430 pounds. He was charged with misdemeanor child abuse involving two additional victims, ages 7 and 8, in a case that is still pending, she said.

Asshole! Shit like this burns me up...probably happens all the time. My mother in law has told me many times of washing out my hubby's mouth with soap or smacking him with a fly swatter. Heck, his step dad beat him with a badminton racket when he was 2 and they tell it like a funny old family story.

I've had my mouth washed out with soap.... well, not in the last 40+ years or so... I wouldn't even classify this in the same category. It was more like a light scrape of a bar on the teeth or a touch of dish soap to the tongue. Nothing that did anything more than taste awful. I can't figure out why it was done more than once to me... you'd think I'd fuckin' learn.

John Allen was sentenced today to serve 25 years in prison for whipping his then-15-year-old son with an extension cord and forcing him to drink water spiked with bleach and soap.
A Denver jury convicted Allen, 36, of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury in August.

According to a press release, Denver Deputy District Attorney Simone Montoya asked the court to give Allen significant prison time because of the severity of the abuse, and the scars that resulted.
The abused son, now 17, testified during the sentencing hearing and said he still has nightmares about the abuse, according to a press release.
Allen is the defendant in a separate pending child-abuse case involving other victims who were 8 and 7 years old at the time of the alleged incident.
