Corey S. Johnson, 23, was arrested after police responded to investigate a domestic disturbance at a residence on North Courtland Street around 2:30 a.m. on Monday. When police arrived at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the second floor, Johnson ran down the stairs holding his baby. He lost control and dropped the baby about 10 feet, then tripped and fell on the child, police said.
Johnson tried to run away again, but police grabbed him and took him into custody. He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. The baby was taken to Pocono Medical Center by Suburban Ambulance to be checked out, police said.

Stroud Area Regional Police say when they arrived at the home, they encountered Corey Johnson, who was running down a flight of stairs with a baby in his arms. However, police say Johnson lost his balance and dropped the child about 10 feet. He then tripped and fell on top of the child, scrambled to his feet and tried to run away. He was quickly corralled and taken into custody...and the child was not seriously injured. In addition to the drinking charges, Johnson must also answer Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Endangerment, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct charges.
