Dnaye Duerson, hospital cook, almost cooked her baby

    Source

DAYTON - Police have arrested a woman who allegedly left her 8-month-old son alone in her car while she went to work at Miami Valley Hospital.

The mother, 19, clocked in for work in the nutrition services department Monday, July 6, about 6 a.m., Dayton police Sgt. David Reed said.

She has been identified through Montgomery County Jail records as Dnaye Duerson.

About 8 a.m. a passerby noticed movement in the floor board of a car parked on a street and discovered it was a baby, Reed said.

    ...

“He is OK and was put in the custody of (Montgomery County) Children’s Services,” Reed said.

Duerson is in jail on a misdemeanor child endangering charge, but could face additional charges, Reed said.
Lucky for that baby that the passerby happened to notice him. I can't imagine why she put him in the floorboard - other than to keep someone from seeing him and calling the cops.

    Idiot.

    OK, that's it.
I'm going to buy a golf cart and just patrol my local mall's parking lot for children in the car. South Florida is HOT today.

I'm very snoopy as I pass through the parking lot. Just last week a security guard questioned me as I was peeking inside a SUV. I explained that I thought a baby was left inside. It turned out to be a baby doll. Boy was I relieved and I really don't care how silly or suspicious I look, I'll continue top peek as I pass.

This sounds like this mother meant to leave her child and hide him from view. Bitch. So glad baby boys is OK, but if he is returned will he remain that way....

This bitch has lost her mind!! How do these people think their child will handle the day in a hot car, unsupervised, no fluids??? Floorboards are only a few degrees cooler if at all!!!

I stood by a car full of dogs one hot day waiting for the police to show up and handle the situation, and called my boyfriend to tell him what was keeping me. He told me I should have just shattered the window and moved on. It's a fun thought!! But I imagine I'd get stuck with the bill.

Too true. The day before I left for Virginia last week I was at our local Hy-Vee store, it was 90 degrees out and there was a little dog in a car with the windows rolled completely up.

The doors were unlocked so I reached in, rolled all the windows down a bit and then went into the store and had them call out over the pa saying I was going to call the police unless the person came and got their dog out of the car.

Stupid woman thought I was crazy, but I told her that the dog could have died within 20 minutes because it felt like a 120 inside the car. She left the stuff she was shopping for and took off. I should have just taken the dog, but with my luck, someone would have seen me.

You know I just saw on the news that there is no law presently on the books that allows an officer to break into a vehicle if a animal is found locked inside....isn't that crazy? I guess its just here in town and not a Texas law, but I'm very surprised. People here a huge animal lovers...I suspect we will see a law put in to place soon.
